Ellen is an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and a Terman Faculty Fellow at Stanford University. She received her B.A. from Harvard University and completed her Ph.D. in Developmental Biology at Stanford University under the mentorship of Dr. Roeland Nusse. As a Life Sciences Research Foundation postdoctoral fellow, she joined the lab of Dr. Pamela Ronald in Plant Pathology at UC Davis to engineer rice immune receptors for enhanced pathogen resistance. She is interested in applying new synthetic biology tools to tackle agricultural challenges. Ellen is from Seoul, Korea.
